Pomeranian Puppies for Sale in PA Breed Info
Country of Origin: Germany
Note: “Teacup” Pomeranian is a term used by disreputable breeders and is applied to any especially or abnormally small Poms. A teacup dog is any dog that weighs less than 4 lbs when fully grown. Since there are many health issues associated with teacup dogs, breeding for “teacup” is a controversial practice that responsible breeders do not encourage.
Temperament: Pomeranian puppies for sale in PA are a proud and also a happy little breed. Their beautiful coats suit them well because they love to strut and dance around to show off. Since Poms are exceptionally loyal to their masters, they need to be socialized well as a growing puppy. As well as loyal, they are very protective, which is fine, but due to their natural instinct to be wary of strangers, they need to learn that after a proper introduction it is acceptable to be friendly towards strangers. They are also a very loving and affectionate breed and they get along well with children who are old enough to be careful with their small size. Lastly, they are good with other pets if they are socialized properly as a growing puppy.

Appearance & Needs of the Pomeranian
Height: 7-12 inches
Weight: 5-10 pounds
Color: Varying Colors
Coat: Double Coated, Thick, Long and Straight
Activity: Pomeranians benefit from walks and plenty of room to play indoors or outdoors. Due to their small size, they make great apartment dogs, but also enjoy a nice amount of playtime.
Grooming: For longer coats, daily brushing and combing is needed. For shorter or lion cuts, we recommend regular grooming every 4-6 weeks in addition to occasional brushing.
Shedding: Pomeranian puppies for sale in PA shed moderately, however if their owner brushes their coat regularly, this will help keep shedding under control.
Life Expectancy: 12-16 years
Origin: Firstly, the Pomeranian was developed from an ancient Artic Spitz type dog in the Pomerania Region, which is now part of Poland and Germany. Many ladies of wealth and royalty owned this breed as a lap dog. Originally the breed was around 30 pounds, which is why some Poms these days can be larger than 10 pounds. The breed was first recognized by the AKC in 1888.
