Corgi Puppies For Sale in PA Breed Info
Country of Origin: Wales
Temperament: Ridgewood Corgi puppies for sale in PA are extremely bright as well as charming. They love human interaction and are also very good with children. Corgis make great watch dogs, since they are very protective over their family. This breed sometimes has human like qualities and love to be involved in everything their family does. They are highly intelligent and train very easily, although like any breed, they need to know up front that they are not the leader of the “pack.” Since they have a natural instinct to be a leader, if no one else takes this role in the family, the puppy will. Good training and also a calm, dominant presence in the family is what a Corgi craves as they are boastful and proud little dogs and love pleasing their owners by showing off their obedience skills.

Appearance and Needs of the Corgi
Height: 10-12 inches
Weight: 20-30 pounds
Color: Red, Sable, Fawn, Tri Color
Coat: Short & Thick
Activity: Corgis enjoy a good amount of activity, either through adequate playtime or daily walks. However, they are a suitable dog for small spaces.
Grooming: Corgis should be bathed regularly, and brushing also helps to keep the coat shiny and healthy. Keep nails short as well as ears clean. To keep shedding down, you can shave the Corgi’s thick coat.
Shedding: Heavy shedding in spring, also the fall. Expect moderate shedding annually. Regular brushing and supplements can help keep this to a minimum.
Life Expectancy: 12-15 years
Origin: Corgi breeds can be traced back as far as 1107 AD and were used by Vikings as herding dogs as they made their way to Wales. The breed descends from a Spitz type dog, and are very closely related to Siberian Huskies, Schipperkes, Chow Chows, Pomeranians as well as other like breeds. Pembroke Welsh Corgis, along with Cardigan Welsh Corgis were first recognized by the AKC in 1928 as the same breed. They were then separated into two distinct breeds in 1934.
In 1993 we purchased one of your babies, a male brindle Cairn Terrier. We named him Mack, and for almost 16 years he was a member of our family. A wonderful dog, a joy to me and my husband, he went everywhere with us and loved it. We purchased him in 1993 in Ocean City, MD. He was very healthy and stayed very active, loving to chase a ball and very affectionate. He passed away on December 22, 2008. It was unexpected and peaceful, and he had remained healthy all his life. I thought you would like to know what had become of one of your babies. He lived a very long and happy lifewith us and he is greatly missed. When I purchase another dog, I will be contacting you to do so. Thank you so much!
